No one ever attempted to get out of paying parking tickets in the 40's/50's/60's/70's/80's/90's/00's etc. did they?
You're a big part of this mess we're in, Coffee.

You're absolutely right. There are other issues.
You're still part of the problem by trying to shirk your responsibility

In which case you should be fine, send them copy of receipt and then give them some bullshit about you having some sort of emergency come up. If you have a copy of the receipt.

You thought you'd get away with cheating but got caught. Now you just need to pay up like a man and stop whingeing like a girl...
He doesn't need to, its not legally enforceable, do you always give up on the first whiff of grapeshot? French rubbing off on you?

This is why the country is fucked?
There may be one or two more significant reasons.

Accept responsibility and pay up. You knew the rules before you parked there. The rules are the same everywhere regarding supermarket car parks.

Fucking 'ell WHO, what happened to you??
Write to the CEO of the Supermarket and the car parking sub contractor demanding a meet either sequentially or to save time, concurrently. It matters not to you or your tastey (sic) Write (sic) Feast(sic)
The missive should can contain comical levels of threat of similar quality to the classic bring a spare head. The meeting place should be a McDonalds.

If it is a fair charge that reflects a market hourly rate so you owe them £2.40 for the extra hour you overstayed, pay them. If they are trying to fleece you for £70 for that hour then they are trying it on and the fine won’t be enforced.
I haven’t paid a non Local Authority fine for years.

Did you use the supermarket? Or were you just parking there for free whilst you fucked off to do something elsewhere?

Dont pay.
Go through the steps on Money Saving Expert and use their templates exactly as they are.
You will not need to pay.

Yes, there was well-displayed signage (or I assume there was, because there always is).
But BRANDED asked if the sign *explained* the rules. It didn't. It simple listed them. If he's going to be a cunt with his questions, I will be one with the answers.

All the big supermarket chains have legally enforceable signage well displayed.
